Contracting Step by Step

If you have not already, I strongly encourage you to create a professional email account prior to creating your Surelc account. The email used to set up your account is the email carriers will keep on file.

1 - CLICK HERE to go to TLG’s Surlec homepage.

2 - Your first step in Surelc will be to create a profile. (Select “REGISTER NEW ACCOUNT” on the homepage to do so.)

3 - Once you’ve created a profile, you’ll work through the tabs on the left hand side. The goal is to eliminate all red dots.

*NOTE: you do not need to be FINRA registered. You can ignore that tab. It will stay yellow and that is okay.

*NOTE: you will be prompted to purchase E&O insurance here, but it is not necessary at this time. You are able to move forward with contracting without it.

4 - As part of this process, you will need to upload a voided check. If you do not have a voided check you can use a direct deposit slip.

5 - Your next step will be to request appointments. This can be found at the bottom of the left hand side bar. If you are not seeing it, you need to scroll down on the menu bar. You will only be able to begin appointment requests once all required red dots are eliminated.

You must fill out the info for each carrier individually, but make sure that you request ALL carriers. The carriers are:

*American Equity, American General Life, Americo, Fidelity and Guaranty, Foresters, Mutual of Omaha, TLG CVS/ AETNA, and TransAmerica.*

NOTE: Every carrier will ask about AML training. Complete your contract with Foresters first. When prompted with AML you can complete the training available through surelc and then apply that certificate for all other carriers.

For an in depth guide through requesting carriers, scroll down on this page.

6 - Immediately below is a link to complete contracting with American Amicable. The contracting for AmAm takes place outside of Surelc. To finish contracting, follow the link below.

The contracting for American Amicable must be done outside of Surelc. Once you have completed contracting in Surelc, follow the link below to complete your final contract request.

Requesting Appointments In-Depth

Begin your requests with the carrier Foresters and complete the free Anti Money Laundering training available through surelc/ surancebay. This is the only training required. The certificate of completion will go on file after completion and apply to all other carriers. For all remaining carriers you can click past the training tab when completing a request.

1. Select "Create Request" and then select carrier.

2. In the center a drop down bar will list all of our carriers. Go one-by-one through the list to contract with each carrier.

3. Request Type - select “Contract." (NOTE: If you have been previously contracted with MOO you need to select "transfer" instead of "contract.")

4. Select ALL states in which you are licensed.

5. Select ALL products. (The only exception to this is with American Equity. For AE ONLY select fixed annuity.)

6. Move through the following pages filling in some personal information and applying your electronic signature to complete the appointment requests.

Frequently Asked Questions

Carrier Login Information

Your applications for Americo, CVS, TransAmerica, Mutual of Omaha, and Foresters* will get sent up for processing immediately. Contracts typically take a week to process. As they come in via email, save your writing numbers and set up your carrier logins. While you wait for contracts to process, head to the training tab to begin your new agent training!

*Note: not all contracts get sent up immediately. New agents focus on the 5 main carriers mentioned above. You don't need to wait for all of your contracts to come before you start dialing! The other carriers get sent up when you write your first piece of business or as needed for a specialty carrier.

As soon as you have completed the appointment requests, contact Becky Harris. She will make sure all contracts are good to go and will send up the contracts to the carriers.
